News Flash

It is always a great start to a day when you receive an email stating.......this just in....... Wauzee has tapeworms.......and you think to yourself, what the hell? This would be the exact txt message that I received from MY husband on Saturday while finishing work at Bloomington Hospital. Apparently, my little blond buddy (Wauzee, not Blair) decided to either a) eat something that was still living....shocker or b) get fleas....which would be really bad and gross at the same time.Blair and I are both leaning towards A, seeing has how Wauzee has not been scratching a lot lately and personally I do not want to think of myself as a bad mother who let her dog get fleas while he has medicine in his "doggie bag" that prevents against them. Blair had found the worms early in their stage of growth and we have not seen any since....great job. However, I need to look at the big picture behind this awesome discovery.......My Blair (without any assistance) called the vet described said worms found in poop, got Wauzee medicine, gave Wauzee medicines prior to noon on Saturday (which was my arrival time home from work). Do I have a great husband or what????
As far as the rest of our lives.....we have been busy. At the current time, I should be studying for an exam on Friday over the eye, ears, and fluid/electrolyte imbalance (however this is more important due to the fact I have not written in a while and I know that you all are waiting on pins and needles to read about our lives in Bloomington.) My classes have been going well. I just had my second day of clinical for the week and was able to work with an excellent pt. Tomorrow is psych and as all of you have read....I am not the biggest fan, followed on Friday by my previously stated test leading to a weekend full of school work, taxes, and hospital work in Indy. I know I can feel your jealousy pouring through the computer as you read this.... Blair has been tending to his second home.....the basement of the HPER building on the Indiana University campus.....he has been working hard on some pilot data for a study that they are hoping to get started sometime by late spring. I was one of his lucky subjects.....it was not great, but I have had to do more before for research projects. Tomorrow night ( I think) is his last official game of the hockey season, it was suppose to be on Sunday, but it was postponed.....reason for no hockey pics and you might not get any from tomorrow's game....it all depends how bored or frustrated I get from my studying if I will be an active cheerleader for the game. As for Blair's weekend.....similar to mine minus the hospital work in Indy.
I really should get to studying......hope that everyone has a great weekend!

My Funny Little Blair

Blair is off to his second hockey thang/ice time this week. He has been a busy guy lately, especially hanging out with wife #2 this week. He had hockey on Sunday, tonight (Tuesday), Thursday game and a Sunday game....then starts the all important playoffs. We are waiting on pins and needles to find out who they were be playing in the first round.....at least that is what Blair is concerned with at the current time.
I will say though, Blair is the most concerned husband on the planet. He actually debated playing hockey last Sunday due to the fact he promised me that he was only going to be playing hockey two times out of the week. I wish I had taken a picture of his look when he initially asked me if he could play on Sunday....I think I saw smoke coming from his ears while he was working up the best way to ask me if he could play hockey. In the end he did the well....I am not sure if I want to go to Columbus (Indiana) to play hockey tonight b/c I have it so much this week. He knew that line would beg the question well how many times are you playing this week, leading to if it makes you happy then go and play.....it only took about 2 secs after I gave my blessing that he changed his mind.....funny guy.
I will be posted pictures of Blair's last official game sometime next week.....note to self....buy batteries for camera!

Oh, a couple of things.....

It is official...I am tired! It has been a weird short, yet long week.

1. Happy Birthday to Virgene...I meant to have this posted on your actual birthday, but life got in the way.

2. RIP My little man....my little Rocky Dog. I found out on Monday afternoon (after a pretty crappy day to begin with due to taking a digger on the ice while trying to walk the dog, trying to study for a first psych test, and almost getting into a car accident due to some a$%hole deciding that the oncoming car (mine) will definitely be able to slow down when I cut it off, and having to deal with everyone at the gym...)

**It should be noted that the next day while trying to leave the house Blair took a digger and broke his sandwich box, which everyone knows holds the all important PBJ, however the sandwich was still edible saving Blair's day from being a complete disaster. Besides his digger earlier this week, Blair has been doing great this week. He had hockey on Tuesday, but no hockey tonight (Thursday)....I am pretty sure he has no idea what to do with himself

I will miss my little Rocky, he was definitely a special dog. For those who do not know, we found Rocky (more like he found us) while we were visiting my g-parents in North Carolina on Christmas eve. He followed my parents while they were out for a walk in the foothills of North Carolina (no small walk). At first my parents were completely against it, but when the shelter was closed until the day after Christmas Rocky was placed into a box and spent the rest of the trip living in the basement/garage of my g-parents home until he got to get his first all important flee bath and hockey trip to Peoria IL. Needless to say my super possessive cat Boxer (who lets be honest was a little bit of a b%$!ch who hated anything else that lived on four feet/paws) did not like Rocky but towards the end of her life truly appreciated Rocky assists in keeping her clean and lively. Rocky was king of the castle and (I think) really helped my parents get through their kids moving out of the house and pretty much took over the totem pole of parental love (Rocky.......................Everyone else). He was always a happy dog that loved a good cuddle and I know Wauzee will be very sad when he goes to visit his g-parents and finds Rocky no longer at home.

3. Finally, I am posting a little video of how we entertain ourselves and Wauzee during the cold and snow days when taking him outside for a walk/run is impossible due to not shoveled or plowed sidewalks and as previously stated icy conditions as well as the fact he is driving us NUTS.
I recommended turning down the volume due to the fact it sounds crappy, but you will still get the idea it was shot with my cell phone, what will they come up with next!?!
